Herefordshire Walking Festival 2010
19th - 27th June, 2010
Welcome to the 2010 Herefordshire Walking Festival - nine days of great opportunities to explore this most beautiful county.
The featured walk this year is 'In the Steps of the Mortimers', covering almost 30 miles over three days of the second weekend (25th-27th June) from Leominster to Ludlow, looking at the sites associated with the Mortimers, the most powerful of the medieval Marcher Lords.
Discover Millionaires Row, poetry in the orchard, the largest enclosed hill fort in Great Britain, the old road to Worcester and an old Roman town.
Follow the Wye Valley Walk down the Wye Gorge, listen to birdsong in the very early morning, meet a herd of angora goats and take a llama for a trek towards an ice-cream reward. Old favourites and new frontiers, all in the company of experts and enthusiasts, surrounded by unspoiled rural landscape with many a chance to taste delicious home-produced food.
There is no better way to explore the hidden beauty of the best of English countryside in the care and company of friends.
